My poor daughter Alicia. She was due to be born on Dec. 4, 2000. However, she could not wait that long, and made her debut on November 24. I was in labor all day Thanksgiving day and she was born in the wee hours the next morning.
Now, almost 10 years later, we realize just how big an inconvenience this really is.
Try planning a birthday party around Thanksgiving. It ain't happening.
This year, instead of an all-out party like last year (a cowgirl theme complete with miniature pony rides), she opted to take a couple of friends to the opening day of "Tangled" instead.
Problem is, nearly everyone is going out of town! Holly is going to Disneyland, Chloe to Idaho...it appears that Elizabeth may be the only one in town.
Some day, we'll come up with a solution. I don't want to be one of those parents who celebrates the birthday at the "half year". Perhaps I should start planning now for next year.
